Nationality

The program is open to:

  • U.S. citizens

  • U.S. nationals

  • Permanent resident of the United States

Education Status

At the start of the program (June 1, 2025), participants must be:

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Enrolled in a part-time or full-time degree program leading to a baccalaureate or associate degree

The following special cases of applicants are also eligible to apply:

  • Recent high school graduates who have been accepted to an undergraduate institution in the United States or its territories but will not start their undergraduate study until Fall 2025.

  • Undergraduate students who are in the process of transferring to another undergraduate institution during Summer 2025.

Students who completed their baccalaureate degree (by June 1, 2025) and are no longer enrolled as undergraduates are not eligible.

Background

In general, applicants should have:

  • Completed at least one year or 24 college credits in a relevant STEM major, such as chemistry, engineering, or material science

  • A cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale

University of Miami Sexual Misconduct Policy

It is the policy of the University of Miami that no person within the jurisdiction thereof shall, on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information or any other protected factor be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination or harassment (including all forms of sexual harassment and sexual violence) under any program or activity of the University, regardless of whether such program or activity occurs on-campus or off-campus. Retaliation against an individual who files a complaint of discrimination, opposes a policy/procedure/practice because he/she believes it to be discriminatory, or who participates in the investigation of a discrimination complaint, is prohibited.
