Accommodations and Benefits

Student participants will receive the following:

  • Exposure to start-of-the-art research facilities at the University of Miami

  • Mentoring by internationally-recognized faculty who are passionate about coastal resilience research

  • Stipend of $600/week for about 9 or 10 weeks

  • Free on-campus undergraduate housing (main Coral Gables campus) for 10 weeks

  • Free transportation for field trips to locally-relevant centers related to coastal resilience research

  • Guidance to develop themselves both personally and professionally through hands-on workshops and seminars

  • Opportunities to showcase and present their research on campus

  • Coaching to prepare applications to graduate school and the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)
